This week, Year 3 went to visit a Synagogue. They learnt all about Judaism, they were sent on a scavenger hunt to find items you’d find at a Synogogue. They tried on the ‘kippur’ which is a Jewish peice of clothing. To end the visit they were given bread and grape juice to try as this symbolises the start of Shabbat.
What Happens During Shabbat?
During Shabbat Jewish families will often visit the Synagogue. Special prayers are said and parts of the Torah are read out. Every Jew must eat three meals during Shabbat and one of the meals must include bread.
