This information on this page is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home. Information is also given regarding individuals who have to self-isolate due to Covid-19.
In the event of a school, local or national lockdown, Manor Primary School has a dedicated Remote Learning portal for parents and pupils to access the resources needed, including guidance documents that have been shared with parents through our parent communications app, SchoolPing. If you have any questions regarding the remote education offer, please contact the school office. Our Deputy Headteacher, Steve Buckley, is the Remote Education Lead.

Remote Learning Offer |
My child is absent because they are awaiting test results and our household is required to self-isolate. School is open to all other children and staff. Your child is well to engage in school learning |
Wherever possible, lessons will be streamed live in our Google Classroom. Children will need to log-in with their Google Classroom. The timetable of the day / week will be uploaded to the Google Classroom
If the lessons being taught in class are not able to be delivered remotely (e.g. if it requires additional resources such as art resources e.g. clay or pastels, or geography resources e.g maps and atlases) then alternative ‘topic’ learning will be set on Google classroom and our other online education platforms such as Mathletics. Children will be expected to register each day unless they are too unwell to engage with the learning. Parents should inform the school of the absence in the usual way. |
My child’s class has been required to isolate due to public health advice due to a Covid-19 break out. OR We enter another ‘lockdown’ with total school closure. |
Children will be expected to register each day. The school will make regular contact with families. |
Learning Links
The internet provides many great opportunities to consolidate and extend learning at home. We provide access for all our pupils to the online platform Education City and Mathletics for our Year 5 and 6 pupils. We have also suggested links to other websites that may be useful in supporting your child’s learning at home. Please note that these pages are not operated by Manor Primary.
If you know of any other great online resources, please let the school know so that we can share with the rest of the school community.
