This Wednesday, a group of Y5 and Y6 children attended the launch of the 2022 Commonwealth Games that will be taking place in Birmingham this year. The guests of honour at the event were Perry, the official mascot, and two Olympic weightlifters, Zoe Smith and Chloe Wiley.
Throughout the morning, the children were able to get involved in sports activities all whilst learning about the different countries that take part in the Commonwealth Games. There was also a Q&A with the athletes who spoke about their journey and experiences, inspiring children to pursue their dreams and goals.
The children learnt a lot about the Commonwealth Games, and it is fair to say that their favourite part of the day was meeting and taking photos with the energetic Perry!
