This week, the children in Year 1 went on an educational visit to St. John’s Church in Stratford to learn more about Christianity and baptisms.
As a part of their curriculum unit, ‘Ourselves and Our Community’ they have been learning about which groups we belong to and we have discovered many ways Christians show they belong to their religion. The members of the church taught them about the meaning of symbols including the cross, water and candles. They even got to take part in a baptism role play.
The children found it fascinating and enlightening. Thank you St. John’s!
