We marked Remembrance Day yesterday with a whole school assembly. It was a reminder for the children of why we do this, and all that we have to be grateful for all of those people who have sacrificed their lives over the past one hundred years in order that we are able to live peacefully.
All of the children, after learning more about this, wrote a message of thanks or remembrance on a poppy. These are all displayed in the main school foyer, along with our poppy net.
We have explained to the children that this Sunday is Remembrance Sunday, and that there will be ceremonies all around the country marking this in the same way that we did yesterday with our two minute silence.
