History in Action!
Last Friday, Year 6 went on a trip to the Imperial War Museum to visit the Second World War Galleries. We started out our journey in the cold, miserable rain, but things started to look up when we arrived at the museum! The artefacts, the means of transport and the remnants of the war that were on display all took our breath away! Since the children have been learning about World War II for five weeks now, they were thrilled to be able to deepen their knowledge further as well as visualise some of the events better through images, arts and materials at the museum. They were able to experience what it was like to be in a shelter at the time and what homes looked like inside. These allowed the children to reflect on what people at the time had to go through in order to survive during such turbulent times.
