In July 2019, The Department for Education released a document changing the previous Sex and Relationship (SRE) guidance to the new Relationships, Sex and Health guidance (RSHE).
Relationships, Sex and Health Education provides pupils with the knowledge of physical, sexual, moral and emotional development. The curriculum equips pupils with an age-appropriate understanding of the importance of stable and loving relationships, respect, love and care for family life. By law, primary schools are required to teach relationships and health education, alongside the National Curriculum for Science and within the context of Safeguarding.
Consultation
At Manor, we acknowledge that parents and carers will want to be informed in what we are teaching our pupils in this area – and should be part of our planning process. For this reason, we have held virtual parent consultation meetings. If you were unable to attend, we invite you to view the documents below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via contact@manor.newham.sch.uk where a member of staff will be able to respond to you.
